Somalia is a sovereign nation on the east coast of Africa, with a bit of a nasty reputation. Somaliland, one of the provinces in Somalia which is a de-facto country. It’s not recognized by the United Nations as it’s own sovereign nation, but it has declared independence and there is not a formal presence by the Somalian government in Somaliland. In fact, they have their own currency, government, and military.
