Pakistan isn’t your average overrun and over-commercialized tourist spot (yet). As soon as you set foot in the country, you’ll be immersed in one of the most vibrating cultures in the world. From roads congested with rickshaws to goats being sold on the side-walk, a simple drive along the streets can be a culture shock by itself. You’ll see the majority of people wear colorful traditional textiles and you might worry about not fitting in but there’s no reason to be concerned: Like most commodities, textiles are extremely affordable and for less than $20 per outfit you’ll blend in just fine in the streets of the big cities.

Pakistani cuisine is world-famous for the variety of spices it uses to create dishes like mouthwatering biryani and creamy karahi and chances are you’ll gain quite a few pounds from all the delicious kebab that will be served to you.

The most remarkable aspect of Pakistan, however, is the traditional culture and values that are deeply ingrained in the society. As a guest, you’ll undoubtedly be exposed to traditional Islamic hospitality and everyone around you will make sure you feel as comfortable as possible. A bonus point for female travelers: Women are greatly respected in public and men will always give up their seats for you and let you cross the otherwise pretty crazy roads.
