SEARCH BY COUNTRY
There are 44 countries in Europe recognized by the United Nations along with 4 recognized dependencies (Channel Islands, Faroe Islands, Isle of Man, and Gibraltar). Greenland is considered a constituent territory of Denmark but due to its entirely different climate/demographic/location I’m including it as a separate listing.
Similarly, Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland are considered a part of the United Kingdom however I’ve included them as separate listings as well.
Russia is considered a European country but will also be included in the Asia category since many of its cities extend into the region. The United Nations does not formally recognize it as a country on the Asian continent.
*denotes a dependent territory or constituent of a UN-recognized European country, (ie. not formally recognized by the United Nations as an independent/sovereign European nation)
