Cyprus is an island country tucked into the corner of the Eastern Mediterranean. It’s perhaps most famous for its beach holidays and resorts but it offers so much more.

Cyprus is a paradise for nature lovers. Inland, the foothills and mountains offer an abundance of walking trails, cycling excursions and peaceful villages that, even in summer, remain cool and look almost alpine surrounded by forest.

Temperatures at sea level remain pleasant until mid-November, making it an ideal holiday destination later in the year. High in the Troodos mountains, the ski season runs from January to late March.

Food and drink are exceptional in Cyprus. You can stuff yourself with mezes in local tavernas, enjoy fresh halloumi from small artisans and take a tour of the family-owned wineries nestled in the hills. Don’t leave Cyprus without trying Commandaria, otherwise known as the ‘king of wines’ and the oldest named wine in the world.

Despite its size, Cyprus is steeped in history and you can see remnants of its ancient Greco-Roman past in the archaeological remains dotted around the island. Whether it’s beaches, mountains or delicious food you’re looking for, Cyprus has it all and more.
